Bio:
Dr. Hung-Chu Lin is a Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Institutional Review Board at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Dr. Lin also holds a research appointment in the Department of Pediatric Newborn Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Prior to her academic career in the United States, Dr. Lin practiced pediatric dentistry at the National Taiwan University Hospital, gaining firsthand clinical insights into the complex nature of patient-provider interactions and healthcare delivery challenges. Her research examines computational modeling of human emotions, social determinants of health, empathy in human interaction, and medical education — with particular interest in integrating psychological and behavioral perspectives and ethical frameworks into AI-driven innovations. The unique combination of Dr. Lin’s clinical experience, research expertise in human-centered healthcare, and leadership in research compliance enables her to address critical issues of designing and implementing AI-integrated healthcare to improve accessibility and health outcomes for diverse populations.
