Our work is built on the expertise of an award-winning faculty, and enhanced by collaborative partnerships with business and industry, universities, and all levels of government.
UL Lafayette has partnered with the National Institutes of Health, Pfizer, and Merck to research and develop life-changing medications. In 2012, it became the first Louisiana university designated as an NSF Industry University Cooperative Research Center and recognized as a leader in research partnerships. Furthermore, the university leverages strong partnerships with public health agencies, various healthcare organizations, and local/state-level economic development entities to translate AI research into practical applications.
UL Lafayette’s research focus includes federated learning, data science and engineering, conversational agents, intelligent systems engineering, and health informatics.
As South Louisiana’s primary hub for innovation and ideas, we are working to take on these challenges by building research partnerships among University students, faculty, government research labs, and the private sector to effectively change the state—and world—for the better.
